School partnerships
Numbersaurus pays a school 25% of the money we receive from the families that school introduces, for as long as those families keep subscribing.
1. What this is
A school's PTFA, or the school itself, gives families a Numbersaurus access code. A family who enters that code in the app is recorded against the school. If that family later chooses to subscribe, we pay the school a share of every subscription payment they make.
There is nothing to sign and nothing to negotiate. These terms are the whole arrangement, they are the same for every school, and a school accepts them by taking a code and handing it out. Section 10 says how we change them.
A school and its PTFA decide between themselves which of them takes part. We deal with whoever asked us for the code, and we pay the account they name under section 4.
The share is paid out of what we receive. It does not change what a family pays: the price is £5 a month or £50 a year for every family, whether or not their school is in this programme.
2. What we pay
The share is 25% of the money we receive, after VAT and Paddle's fee.
Here is that sum on one payment. A family pays £5.00 for a month. Paddle collects the payment, remits £0.83 of VAT and keeps a fee of £0.62, so £3.55 reaches us. The school's share is 25% of £3.55, which is £0.89. Fifty families each paying £5 a month is £44.50 a month to the school.
We work the share out on each payment on its own and round it to the nearest penny, with half a penny rounded up. A quarter of £3.55 is £0.8875, so each payment earns £0.89. We do not work one percentage out over a whole statement, so a statement's total is always the sum of the lines above it.
The VAT and the fee in that sum are Paddle's figures, not ours. They are what Paddle reported on a real £5.00 payment in August 2026, and Paddle can change its fee. The 25% and what it applies to are ours, and section 10 covers changing them.
3. We pay on money received, not on sign-ups
- A family who takes the code and never subscribes earns the school nothing. We take no card for the free check or the free days that follow it, so no payment is made and there is no share.
- If no child in a family practises for 14 days in a row, we take no further payment from that family. That is the Practice Promise, published on our pricing page, and it applies to every subscription. While a family's payments are stopped the school earns nothing from them. When a child practises again, payments resume and so does the share.
- If a payment is refunded, we work the share out again on what is left of that payment. A full refund leaves nothing owed on it, and a refund can never leave a school owing us money.
- If we have already paid a share on a payment that is later refunded, we do not ask for the money back. Instead we hold the school's next payout until later earnings cover the difference, and the statement shows the amount.
- We do not pay out a payment's share until at least 14 days after that payment was taken, because a refund or a card dispute inside that window changes what is owed.
4. How we pay
- We send a statement. It lists every family line, every payment under it, and the share worked out on each payment, so the total can be added up from the lines rather than taken on trust. Each payment line shows what the family paid, how much of it reached us, and the share on it.
- We pay by bank transfer into an account in the name of the PTFA or the school. We do not pay an individual. Each transfer carries a reference, and the statement says which payments that reference covers.
- We pay in the currency the family paid in. Every family pays in pounds today.
- We do not yet run payouts on a fixed date. We make them by hand and tell the school what each one covers. If we set a schedule we will publish it here.
- The share is payment for introducing families. It is not a donation, and we do not treat it as one. What the PTFA owes in tax on what it receives, and whether it has to account for VAT, is for the PTFA and its own advisers. We cannot advise on it.
5. What the school is told, and what it is not
We do not tell the school which families used its code. The statement carries no parent's name, no child's name and no email address. Each family is one line with a reference we generate, the dates payments were taken, and the amounts.
So the school can see how many families used its code and what they brought in altogether, and it cannot see who they are. This works both ways: a school cannot ask us who a line is, and it cannot ask us to treat one family differently from another.
If you are a parent reading this: your school is not told whether you subscribed, and it is not told whether your child practised. What we hold about a family and a child is set out in our Privacy Policy.
6. The free check stays free, and a school earns only on a family's own choice
- The free check is free for every family, whether or not their school is in this programme, and we take no card for it. Nothing about this programme changes that.
- A school earns only where a family chose to subscribe. Nothing a child does in the check, and nothing about how much a child practises, earns the school anything by itself.
- Please tell families that the PTFA earns a share when a family subscribes, in the same message as the code. We would rather a family heard it from the school than found it on this page.
7. Which families count
- A family counts to the school when they enter the school's code in the app. Following the school's link without entering the code does not count, and nor does putting the school's name in a web address.
- A family counts to one school only, and the first code they enter is the one that counts. A second code does not move them to another school, and once a family counts to a school that does not change.
- A family who moves away, or changes school, keeps counting to the school that introduced them for as long as they keep subscribing.
- We do not backdate. A payment taken before the school's start date earns nothing, because there was no agreement in place on the day it was taken.
8. Stopping
- Either of us can stop at any time, without notice. A school stops by telling us at hello@numbersaurus.com, and we record the date it ends.
- Payments taken before that date still earn the school its share, and we still pay what is owed on them, including shares we have not paid out yet. Payments taken on or after that date earn nothing.
- Families keep their subscriptions and their access. Nothing about a family changes when a school stops.
- We may revoke a code, for example if it is posted publicly or resold. Revoking a code stops new families being counted to the school. Families already counted carry on earning for the school in the ordinary way.
- We may end a school's partnership at once if its code is being abused, for example used to sign up families that are not real. Shares already earned on real subscriptions are still paid.
9. What we do not promise
- We do not promise a school any amount. What a school earns depends on how many families subscribe and keep subscribing, and we cannot predict that. The sum in section 2 is arithmetic on one price, not a forecast.
- This is not exclusive. We may run the same programme with any other school, including neighbouring ones, and we may reach families in the school's area by other means.
- Being in this programme does not make a school or its PTFA our partner, agent or reseller, and neither of us can make commitments on the other's behalf. The school is not responsible for the service and we are not responsible for the school.
- We do not ask a school to recommend Numbersaurus, and nothing here requires it to. We will not use a school's name, crest or logo in our own marketing without asking that school first.
- We do not promise the programme will continue. We may withdraw it under section 10.
10. Changing these terms
We may change these terms, including the rate and what it applies to. The rate that applies to a payment is the rate in force on the day that payment was taken, so a change never re-prices a month already shared. We will email the schools in the programme before a change to the rate takes effect. The date below shows when this page last changed.
